This week we are shining a light on our Chief Commercial Officer, Robert McGarry as he shares some insight about his role, the company culture at Syndeo, why he decided to join and some interesting facts about himself.

Q: What do you like most about your current role?

A: Sales is so important in a start-up, it’s where you get immediate feedback on the company’s products and services. I can bring this to bear on what we are doing. In a small company like Syndeo my voice gets heard and I can see how I am influencing what happens. I also like that I can do my job from any location, in the office, at home, anywhere in Europe.

Q: Why did you decide to join Syndeo?

A: I am a start-up company person. I love working in a company where I know everyone and can deal with them directly if I need to. I work at Syndeo because I really like the idea, it is disruptive and innovative, and I think it’s a business that will be very successful.

Q: How would you describe the culture at Syndeo?

A: I would say that we communicate openly and freely. We do stuff (rather than just talk about stuff), we love good ideas and we socialise together (pre-Covid anyway).

Q: Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

A: When I was at university studying Engineering I had no idea I would end up working in sales.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I enjoy cycling, particularly around the Loire Valley in France, where I live for part of the year.
